Glen Green

Glen Green was born in North Vancouver, British Columbia where he continues to work and live with his wife and two children.  Glen is a self-taught watercolor artist who enjoys painting landscapes and wildlife, but seems to be always drawn back to people paintings, specifically entertainment and sports images.  The paintings vary from people in action to mood paintings. With Glen’s style of painting having knowledge of each subject matter is important, from the movements they make to the equipment they use.

His paintings are always accurately rendered.  Most of Glen’s paintings consist of a loose wash background which lends itself in particular to sports images.  It gives a feeling of motion and action.  It also makes for a nice mixture of contemporary and realism.  Glen’s subject matter is varied, from Joe Montana to Michael Jordan, Bobby Orr to Wayne Gretzky, and Elvis Presley to Bob Hope and most recently, international singing star and BC native, Michael Bublé.  He has also been commissioned by corporations such as the Vancouver Canucks, the Calgary Flames, the B.C. Lions, The Hockey Hall of Fame, the Canadian National Soccer Team, Coca Cola, The Bradford Exchange, Canadian Art Prints and by federal institutions which include Canada Post and the Canadian Mint.

When offered the opportunity to create the Beatles in Vancouver project, Glen jumped at the chance.

“Having worked on previous projects with Red Robinson, this was a unique opportunity to honour Red and recreate, in art form, an event that I remember my parents talking about when I was a youth and living just a few short miles from Empire Stadium.  Red Robinson is a broadcasting legend in BC and I’m proud to have been asked to participate in this project.”
